Exploring Other Uses for Human Design
Apr 14, 2024
We're venturing off the beaten path today, so if you're a Human Design purist or you don't enjoy creative problem-solving, this might not be the spot for you. If you're up for something that can support your work and relationships while also keeping things light, you're in the right place. Let's get started!
Once you find out about Human Design, a Pandora's box of unlimited possibilities opens up. And if you're anything like me, you've probably noticed that people aren't the only ones on this planet with birthdates! Animals have designs as well and they have their own unique energy blueprint. The same thing is true for relationships between two people. And here's where things get really interesting.
There's a concept around what happens when two minds come together, which suggests that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Meaning that your mind plus the mind of your partner doesn't equal two minds. Instead, when both minds come together they form a third "mastermind". You may be familiar with mastermind groups where individuals meet up with peers or others with similar goals. The value of a mastermind group lies in what happens when each of these minds join forces and essentially unlocks a potential "mastermind" that wouldn't otherwise be possible. Creativity, innovation, and out of the box thinking takes place inside the mastermind, and that's why they're so valuable.
Coming back to Human Design, when you and a partner or friend first met, that timestamp marked the new beginning of two souls who, together, form a distinct third entity. And this makes a lot of sense! As soon as you meet someone you start learning about them, sharing your opinions, spending time together, and creating a life experience that's unique to that relationship. If you take the "birth date" of an important relationship and run it through a Human Design chart generator, you'll be presented with that relationship's Human Design. Now you'll be able to understand what your relationship needs to live by its own design. Give it a try and have some fun with it. There's no need to get super serious or make major life changes just because the design of your relationship is set up a certain way. Consider it an additional layer of Human Design that you can try on and explore to see how it feels.
One way I love experimenting with Human Design is by taking the birth date of my various projects and running the chart to see what comes up. For example, when I first decided to create Reflector By Design, I started jotting down the areas I'd like to explore and share with other Reflectors. When I went back into OneNote, it had the exact time that the idea came to life and I was able to pull a Human Design chart. Interestingly enough, Reflector By Design is a 3/5 Emotional Manifestor with the Right Angle Cross of Service as its incarnation cross.
Learning these traits allowed me to tune into what this idea, this business, needed from me in order to bring it to life. I like to think that since the business is a Manifestor, it's going to inform me as to what I should create, share, and prioritize. Plus, having the 3/5 profile tells me there will be some interesting trial and error along the way…all divinely intended to give me insights that can help others. In a sense, the Human Design of my business functions like direction from the Universe. I get to sit back and do my own thing until the business informs me that it's time to initiate something new. This "informing" comes from things that catch my curiosity multiple times in a row and are related to supporting other Reflectors along their journeys. That's how I distinguish it from my own personal Reflector curiosity, although sometimes the two cross over.
It can be really eye-opening and magical to see things through the lens of your project's design. In times when you feel unmotivated or unclear about the direction to go with things, try diving into the endeavor's design to see where it wants to go.
Even my upcoming Reflector book has its own design chart sitting beside my computer. This book is a 5/1 self-projected Projector with the Left Angle Cross of Dominion as its incarnation cross. It needed me (as an individual) to invite this book into existence in a very specific way. The sound boarding authority is how I work through parts of the content until they make sense for the ultimate goal of the book. And once it's published, it will need YOU to invite it into your life. Makes sense for a book, doesn't it!
Now, not everyone believes in this meta use of Human Design but why not choose to have fun with it as a system? As a Reflector, I find comfort in being guided through my work. I know there are countless other Reflectors who struggle to find meaningful work they can sustain and make a great living with, so if this is the case for you, try pulling the Human Design of your job to see whether it aligns with your own personal design and life's purpose.
I truly believe that we are capable of taking on any role in any industry. But there's one caveat. You have to fully understand what that role requires of you and then compare it to your own values, design, and goals. Sometimes they line up beautifully, and sometimes they don't. It has nothing to do with your capabilities, it just might not be most aligned for your unique design.
The possibilities for how to use Human Design are only limited by your imagination and willingness to look at things with fresh eyes. Given that Reflectors are the 1% who operate differently than the other 99%, I have a feeling that this is right up your alley.
Unique and Powerful. That's who you are.
