What You Can Learn From Other Reflectors

A while ago I was asked to participate in a panel discussion for Reflectors where we'd share our own stories of discovering Human Design and give tips on how to live according to our design. Aside from being in a virtual room with more Reflectors than I've ever been around in one setting, the most fascinating part of that experience was hearing how each of us on the panel had taken different paths but were all living as happy Reflectors.

This was great news!

Human Design is known as the science of differentiation. It's literally telling us we're all unique little snowflakes, yet when I was beginning my Reflector journey it seemed like all Reflectors got put into one box that had a big question mark on it. The resources I looked at made it seem like we have no personality or unique traits of our own, aside from being the 1% that operates differently from everyone else. This couldn't be farther from the truth.

One look at your Human Design chart will show you all the different layers of the onion that make up who you are.

Things like:

• Your Profile: The two numbers, like 6/2, tell you how you tend to show up in the world and are seen by others and yourself
• Defined Gates: These are the unique gifts that you have in your soul's design and your personality
• Incarnation Cross: This one is a fave of mine because it tells you what you've been put here to do. It's your life's purpose…no big deal!

Even with the same strategy and authority of waiting a lunar cycle, you can probably start to see how these other factors influence how you experience life.

While the title of Reflector hits differently for each of us (for me it was validating), there are infinite ways to live happily and in alignment as a Reflector without needing to do it exactly like anyone else.

For example, of the 3 panelists at the event one had recently packed up her family and decided to travel cross-country in an RV to live a location-independent life, one was passionate about transforming businesses and workplaces, and one had found ways to take on different projects within the same company while starting an online business from home (that's me).

There were notable differences in work experience, family composition, and amount of time each of us had been living as our most aligned Reflector selves but we did share some common traits as well.

We joked about our challenges with big decisions and how funny it was (to us) to ask our loved ones to wait 28 days for a response. We each remembered occasions when we seemed to morph into those we were around for significant amounts of time. And it seemed like a very common theme that hobbies and interests would be intense one day and gone the next.

What a relief to know that you're not alone in feeling different than 99% of the world.
